Privacy Notice

This notice covers en.gaojinlaw.com, the English-language website of Beijing Gaojin Law Firm (北京高金律师事务所), 7 Jianguomennei Avenue, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. It applies to visitors to this website; information you share once you engage us as a client is governed by the engagement letter and by lawyers' statutory duties of confidentiality, which are stricter than anything on this page.

What we collect, and why

Enquiries you send us. When you use the contact form, email us, call, or add us on WeChat, we receive what you choose to share — typically your name, company, contact details and a description of your matter. We use it to respond to you, to run a conflict-of-interest check before any engagement, and for no other purpose. The contact form is delivered by FormSubmit, a third-party form service, which transmits your message to our firm mailbox.

Scheduling. If you book a call, scheduling runs on Calendly, a third-party service with its own privacy policy. We receive the details you enter when booking.

Analytics — only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. Analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them in the cookie notice; until then the tool runs in a cookieless consent mode. We record aggregate events such as page views and clicks on contact links. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information for marketing.

Hosting logs. The site is served by Netlify, whose infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and delivery.

Where your information goes

We are a law firm in Beijing, so an enquiry you send us is received and handled in China. The third-party services above (FormSubmit, Calendly, Google, Netlify) process data on their own infrastructure under their own privacy terms. We do not pass your details to anyone else unless you ask us to, the law requires it, or it is necessary to act for you.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to maintain conflict-checking records. If an enquiry becomes an engagement, retention follows the engagement letter and the record-keeping rules that apply to law firms in China.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law — including China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) and, where it applies to you, the GDPR — you may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw any consent you have given (for example, by clearing this site's cookies to reset your analytics choice). Children

This website is directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
